Some say Dubai Creek Harbour is the future of living. The glitzy neighborhood is one of the United Arab Emirate’s most exciting new districts, with waterfront views, elegant skyscrapers, walkable park spaces and shopping and dining options galore.

200,000 people call the harbor home and live in the many high-dollar residential towers that boast spectacular views of downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa. Rent includes 5-star amenities and service and access to nearby restaurants and shopping.

Luxury is ubiquitous in this neighborhood in the area that is situated 10 minutes from downtown. The harbour is also near the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary that is home to birds and flamingos. The site and nearly 450 birds on the preserve are protected by UNESCO.

The developers, Emaar Properties, have particular interest in creating architecture that fuses creativity, cutting-edge technology, innovation and design. Engineer and architect Santiago Calatrava has already been selected to create a tower that will serve as the centerpiece at Dubai Creek Harbor.

The design was selected from six entries in the international competition. It fuses Islamic architectural motifs with 21st century design and will hope to be a landmark cultural and tourist destination once finished in 2020.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad praised the design, saying “this architectural wonder will be as great as the Burj Khalifa and the Eiffel Tower.” The tower is expected to be taller than the Burj Khalifa.
