How do I renew my Washington D.C. architect license?

At least sixty (60) days prior to the expiration of a license, you will be sent a renewal application by first class mail to the holder of a license at the licensee’s known address on record with the Board.

What are the Washington D.C. Continuing Education Guideline Requirements?

Architects in Washington D.C. are required to complete 24-hours HSW of continuing education by April 3oth of even-numbered years.

Do I need to complete continuing education requirements for my AIA membership?

Yes, as an Architect member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), 18 learning unit hours are required per calendar-year for membership renewal.  Of these 18 hours, at least 12 hours must be in subjects designated as Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW).

Are AIA approved classes accepted to renew my Washington D.C. architect license?
